Did you Know?
“It is anticipated that 1,300 jobs are projected to arise over the next ten years, with 73% of them replacing retiring personnel and over 95% of the vacancies are projected to be full time work” as indicated by the Great Lakes International Marine Training and Research Centre.
The Canadian Shipowners Association states that “its membership is facing a challenge finding the uniquely‐skilled workers it requires to operate its vessels. Marine personnel are highly skilled individuals who must undergo constant training throughout their careers and also develop expertise and knowledge of Canada’s unique coastal, inland and Arctic waters. Our challenge is finding qualified Canadians to fill our Canadian jobs in Canadian waters on Canadian‐ flagged ships.”
This unique Job Fair & Trade Show provides an opportunity for you to learn about the array of careers that are available supporting the Marine Industry around the Great Lakes Region. The Job vacancies and potential opportunities are available on the water and on land. Marine companies and organizations, as well as educational partners, will be on hand to share their story and advise you on the possibilities of the present and the future. We hope that it will change the way you think about the Marine Industry!
