This is a unique event that focuses on careers in and around the Great Lakes, on the water and on land supporting this industry.

Did you Know?

“Over the next decade employment opportunities in marine industries will grow dramatically as a result of retirements and changes in the industry. 1300 jobs are projected to be available along the Great Lakes alone over this time and of these, 73% will be to replace retiring personnel. Jobs such as Chief Engineers, Captains, Engineering Seamen, Chief Cooks and Deck Officers need to be filled in the shipping industry. The salary range for most of these jobs is $40,000 – $100,000 plus per year. There will be many opportunities for rapid advancement in careers on the water.” This Job Fair & Trade Show is being held as part of the Remembrance of the Storm of 1913.

The Centres for Employment & Learning will have sessions set up on site to assist career seekers with building their resumes and developing stronger interview skills.

Share Stories

Through workshops, speakers, tour leaders and veterans, hear stories of what it was like in the past as compared to the current situation of careers on the water. Ask questions, share stories and find out what your future holds!

Participate in an amazing weekend long event!

There will be activities, music, tours, theatre, art exhibits, museum displays… anything you can think of to commemorate this centennial event and celebrate the future of the marine industry. In addition, flags, books and cd’s will be available.
